Shweta Menon receives threatening calls: Shweta Menon, an actress and television anchor, has filed a complaint with the cyber police at Mumbai, after she received threatening calls on Sunday morning from strangers.
The Malayalam actress Shweta Menon is currently in Mumbai and she has filed a complaint with the cyber police at here. She suspects that the phone threats are due to her nomination to be a member of the executive committee of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). Shweta Menon also revealed that caller said her something like, “I called to say something. The same industry will betray you too.”
Salt N’ Pepper actress Shweta Menon said, “When I came to Mumbai, I started to get threatening calls. As I am in Mumbai, had no clues what it meant. But when I saw the news of my nomination as a member of ‘Amma’ executive committee on media, then realized that the two must be connected.”
The police has arrested the person by tracing the number. He said that he just called Shweta Menon to offer advice. Police released him as Shweta Menon’s family didn’t decide to file the case against him.
Shweta Menon said, I am an AMMA member. And for me, to get upgraded to an executive member is an honour.” The actress further said that she won’t be a spokesperson for anyone.
According to the latest buzz, Mohanlal will take charge as president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Actors. The post became vacant when Innocent, veteran actor and Left-supported MP, resigned. The Association will meet formally on 24th June, where the officers will take in charge.
Shweta Menon started her career as an actress in Malayalam feature films in the early 1990s. She made her debut in Bollywood with Ishq starring Aamir Khan and Ajay Devgn, which was released in 1997. After acting more than 30 Hindi movies, Shweta Menon made her comeback to Malayalam Film Industry in mid 2000. Meanwhile Shweta Menon is busy in her upcoming movie Oru Kuprasidha Payyan, in the direction of Madhupal.
