South Indian International Movie Awards 2023 celebrations were held in Dubai for the last two days. While the Telugu and Kannada awards ceremony was held for two days on September 15, the Tamil and Malayalam film industry awards ceremony was held yesterday on September 16. Many celebrities attended this grand event in Dubai.
In the Telugu awards, RRR and Sita Ramam movies showed their strength, while in Tamil, Ponniyin Selvan 1 and Vikram competed for the awards. These two films won awards in half the categories.
Ponniyin Selvan 1 Movie – won Best Film, Best Actress (Trisha), Best Cinematographer (Ravi Varman), Best Lyricist (Illango Krishnan), Best Production Designer (Thota Tarani) awards. The film’s director Mani Ratnam received the Extraordinary Achievement Award.
And Kamal Haasan made a grand comeback after many years with the film Vikram which was a huge success. At the SIIMA Awards, Vikram’s movie won the Best Director (Lokesh Kanagaraj), Best Actor (Kamal Haasan), Best Music Director (Anirudh), Best Supporting Actress (Vasanti) and Best Singer (Kamal Haasan) awards. Kamal Haasan won best actor and best singer for the movie Vikram.
Anirudh Ravichander has captured hearts worldwide with his soulful and vibrant compositions, and his remarkable work in the Tamil action drama Vikram has earned him this prestigious accolade.
