LR Ishwari is a popular playback singer who has sung several songs in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Tulu, and English. She was awarded with the Kalaimamani, the highest civilian award for Arts and culture in Tamil Nadu, for her contributions to film industry. It is known that the Oo Antava Mawa song from Pushpa’s movie was very popular. This song featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu was the major attraction of the film. But then singer LR Ishwari made sensational comments on this song.
Recently LR Ishwari attended an interview and said, “Song programs have been coming for a long time in all the channels. But nobody sings my songs. I don’t know the reason. Lately I heard the song Oo Antava Mawa. Is it a song? It’s the same from top to bottom.”
She added, “the song is ok from the beginning to the end, the music director should look after it, the children (nowadays singers) know, they will sing as they are told, the music director should look after it. He said that if the same song had come to him, its range would have changed.” She further added, “The reason why the songs we sang are still standing is because our work is so sincere. Movies are also the same. Each movie used to play for 250 days in those days. Now If they play for 10 days, they say it’s great.”
