Plus Points:
· Ram Pothineni performance
· Action sequences
· Thaman’ BGM
Minus Points:
· Narration
· Story
· Placement of Songs
Performance: The first thing to talk about in this film is Ram Pothineni’ performance in dual shades. Ram showed his mass in both shades. He fits perfectly in the macho personality designed by Boyapati and rocks in the action sequences. Also, many elevations and mass action sequences give a high in a range to the mass audience. Ram Pothineni delivered the dialogues of Boyapati Mark very well. Boyapati’s characterization of the hero can also be said to be a highlight of the film. The heroine Sree Leela also impressed with her beautiful looks and energetic performance. And even with Ram, his on-screen chemistry is superb. Srikanth, Indraja, Prince and others who played the other main roles are impressive in terms of their roles. And young actress Sai Manjrekar also impresses with an emotional performance.
Technical: The production values are good in this film. The producers did not compromise anywhere. Also the BGM score given by Thaman in the technical team is good. But the songs are not up to the mark. The cinematography is good. Editing should be better. And when it comes to director Boyapati Srinu, he picked up a decent subject Skanda. He also presented decent emotions dialogues. However, Boyapati’s film is meant for the mass audience and it seems that stories and logic have to be kept aside. And Skanda also belongs to this category.
Analysis: Overall, it can be said that Skanda is a regular Boyapati mark solid mass drama. Ram Pothineni’ variations in his characterization and mannerisms are impressive. Also the mass action sequences and elevations will appeal to the mass audience.
