A Pune based software engineer has been arrested by the police for threatening to kill NCP chief Sharad Pawar. The accused has been identified as 32 years old Sagar Barve. The court remanded him till 14th of this month. Barve sent warnings to Sharad Pawar through Facebook.  Sarad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule has lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Police about the threats coming through Facebook and Twitter.

Barve warned Sharad Pawar in his post on Facebook that the fate of Narendra Dabholkar, who fought against superstitions, will befall Sharad Pawar. Narendra Dabholkar was shot dead by bike-borne assailants in 2013. The NCP worker specifically lodged a complaint at the Lokmanya Tilak Marg police station about this threat.

The police identified the accused through the IP address and arrested Barve. They are hunting for the accused who threatened them through Twitter. An officer revealed, Barve is not linked to any party. He added that it is not clear why  Barve posted the message.
