Everyone is aware that the star pace-bowler in the Indian Cricket team, Shanthakumaran Sreesanth has been sentenced to a life ban by the BCCI on charges of spot-fixing. Now the tainted Indian fast bowler is all set to make his comeback in competitive cricket after a gap of more than seven years.   KSCA has decided to consider the speedster Sreesanth to play for Kerala in the 2020-21 edition of the Ranji Trophy.

In  the year 2015 a special court in Delhi had acquitted him of all charges. In 2018 the Kerala High Court had revoked BCCI decision to impose a life ban on Sreesanth. But in 2019, the Supreme Court upheld Sreesanth’ guilt but asked BCCI to reduce his quantum of punishment. Later BCCI had reduced the cricketer Shanthakumaran  Sreesanth life ban to seven years, which will end in September 2020.

37-year-old Shanthakumaran Sreesanth is  making his comeback as Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) will consider the fast bowler for selection once his ban ends in September.

Shanthakumaran Sreesanth  last played a first-class game in February 2013, representing the Rest of India in the match against Mumbai in the Irani Cup. He has not played a competitive match since May 2013 and has been raring to make a comeback in the domestic setup as he believes he has a lot of cricket left in him.
