Actor Suriya‘s successful film in Tollywood industry ‘Jai Bheem‘ has been shortlisted and is eligible for the Best Feature Film at the Oscars 2022. It is a legal drama, directed by TJ Gnanavel.
The fil stars Suriya and Lijomol Jose with Manikandan, Prakash Raj, Rajisha Vijayan and Rao Ramesh in supporting characters. The story of the film based on a true incident in 1993, which involves a case fought by Justice K Chandru. It revolves around the lives of Sengeni and Rajakannu, a couple belong to Irular tribe.
Jai Bheem is the only Tamil film to be shortlisted for the Best Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards.
And on the flip side, Mohanlal’s Marakkar has also shortlisted and is eligible for Best Feature Film at the Oscars 2022. Jai Bheem and Malayalam film Marakkar have been selected for Oscars among the 276 films that have been shortlisted across the world. Marakkar film is based on Kunjali Marakkar, which belongs to 16th century in Calicut, is the admiral of the fleet of Zamorin. The film was directed by Priyadarshan. The film features Arjun Sarja, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Keerthy Suresh, Manju Warrior, Siddique and Suneel Shetty.
The Oscar nomination voting commences on January 27, after that, the final nomination list will be revealed on February 8, and finally, the award ceremony will be held on March 27, in Hollywood, United Sates.
