After 15 years of its service, Tata Sky has altered its name as Tata Play, and from now, it also supports the biggest and commercial OTT platform Netflix. The company believes, its business includes fiber-to-home broadband and Binge services instead of just Direct-To-Home service, which is shortly called as DTH.

Currently, the company has millions of customers. The new name ‘Tata Play’ represents the proliferated range of products and services provided by the company, that owns 19 million active subscribers and a total of 23 million connections.
The CEO and MD of Tata Play has described that they have now fully transformed into a content distribution company, before this, they actually started as a DTH company. As the needs of a small base of customers were changing, and they were consuming content on OTT platforms, they wanted to form a platform and provide them with a unified experience. So, they introduced Binge, and also they offered a niche broadband business.
With the support rendering by Tata Play, there will be no necessity for the customers to search for ways to watch Netflix, as the popular OTT app will be in race from tomorrow. Tata Play providing support for most of the major video streaming apps like Amazon Prime Video,Disney+ Hotstar, Voot, and etc.
The company will be providing free reconnection services to those who have Tata Sky connection, but haven’t recharged for a long time. Rs 175 service visit charges will be abdicated by the company. Tata Play Binge combo packs, along with twelve OTT apps and linear TV channels have been initiated by the DTH operator. Soon, the company will also unveil some new Tata Play Netflix combo packs on 27th of this month.
