Telangana Chief Minister KCR will expand his cabinet today on Sunday. KCR has decided to undertake the exercise on Sunday, which is an auspicious day of ‘Dasami’. Today Soundararajan will also take over as the new Governor of Telangana in place of ESL Narasimhan. In addition to Rao, the Cabinet comprises 11 members at present. According to the latest buzz in the media circle, the Chief Minister KCR is expected to give his son and TRS working president KTR and his nephew and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao portfolios. Both were cabinet ministers during KCR’ first term as Chief Minister.
The new ministers will be sworn in at a ceremony to be held at Raj Bhavan at 4 pm, as announced by the Chief Minister on Saturday night.
According to a statement from Telangana CM’ Office, KCR has informed the Governor-designate Tamilisai Soundararajan about the expansion of cabinet.
The decision for the cabinet expansion was announced without any prior information. The cabinet can have 6 more ministers. The Chief Minister is likely to distribute major portfolios like industry, finance, irrigation and information technology.
TRS won the elections in November last year, KTR was made the working president of TRS Party and KCR took oath as chief minister of Telangana for the second term on 13th December.
