Telangana government has focused on the recruitment of teacher jobs. The details regarding the posts to be filled have already been mentioned. Permissions have also been issued for the filling up of the respective posts. A notification is also being prepared to be issued soon. As part of DSC notification, 2,575 SGT and 1,739 School Assistant posts will be filled by DSC. A total of 5,089 jobs will be recruited. In this background, the education department has taken a key decision regarding the filling of STT posts.
It has been decided to fill the SGT posts only with candidates who have completed Diploma in Elementary Education (DD). Repomapo official orders are forthcoming. As a result candidates with BED qualification will have to compete for School Assistant (SA) posts only. NCTE took a decision in 2018 making BED candidates eligible for SGT posts as well. The Supreme Court recently gave a key judgment on this. The Supreme Court has ruled that the posts of teachers in primary schools should be filled with DD qualified candidates. Based on this judgment, NCTE has taken steps, the respective states are also going to fill the STT jobs subject to the Supreme judgment. It is possible that the DSC notification will come in this month itself.
Telangana government has recently taken a key decision on the issue of children with special needs in government schools. Green signal has been given to appoint permanent teachers. As a part of this, the state government has decided to appoint special teachers for the first time. A total of 1,523 special education for disabled teacher posts have been newly sanctioned, one for every 10 students. Green signal has also been given to replace these. The finance department has approved the filling of 6,612 posts including the posts of special education teacher along with the posts of DSC. There is a chance to get DSC notification for all the posts together.
