In 2018, An Indian-origin couple was arrested for allegedly running a high end prostitution ring in the United States by luring at least five actresses from Tollywood and advertising them for s.. at Indian conferences and cultural events across the country. The prostitution racket was masterminded by Kishan Modugumudi, Indian businessman who rose to become a player in the Telugu film industry and co-produced several hit movies.

 Now according to the latest report, Federal prosecutors are seeking up to 34 years in prison for a former  Telugu  filmmaker Kishan Modugumudi who pleaded guilty to running a Chicago-based s…x trafficking ring.

Kishan Modugumudi was convicted in February 2020 in a s… trafficking case related to a victim. Court records show that his wife, Chandra also pleaded guilty to s…. trafficking for her role.

Federal prosecutors say Kishan Modugumudi  and his wife Chandra ran a high-end prostitution ring involving young Indian actresses brought to the US from this apartment building in the 5700 block of West Belden Avenue in Chicago.

Seeking a sentence of 27 to 34 years for Kishan Modugumudi, prosecutors said that he was a stalker who “hunted down the dreams of young Indian  girl who wanted to come to  US and pursue their careers.”

In a separate filing on Friday, the  prosecutor Kendall sentenced Chandra Modugumudi to up to 27 years in prison. Both the convicts will be sentenced on 24th June.
