Many people who went to America for higher education faced immigration problems. Several students from Telugu states were sent back on charges of violating US federal regulations.

Many Indian students who went to America for higher studies have been caught in American immigration checks. American immigration officials stopped Indian students who went to get admissions in various courses in many universities in America. On Thursday, 21 people who were suspected of not having proper documents were boarded from the airports of Atlanta, San Francisco and Chicago for their return journey from America.

Many of those who went to America for education were sent back because they did not have proper documents and did not show reasonable reasons for coming to America. Most of those sent back from America are from Telugu states. It seems that a total of 21 people will be sent back and some others will also be questioned.

After arriving at various airports in America, several students from Telugu states as well as from many parts of the country were questioned by the immigration authorities as part of routine checks.

Fees and financial status of the students were examined in the universities where the students got admissions. Phones and mails of students were checked. Discussions with consultancies as well as conversations with other students in the US were followed by those who were suspicious and turned away. Students who have been deported from the US cannot apply for a visa again for up to 5 years.
