The Elephant Whispers won the award in the Best Documentary Short Film category. This documentary short film is directed by Karthiki Gone Slaves. Guneeth Monga is the producer of this Indo-American nominated short film. Karthiki and Guneet Monga who were the producers of this short film received this award.
The Elephant Whispers short film revolves around a couple named Boman and Belli in South India. They dedicate their lives to caring for and nurturing an orphaned elephant named Raghu. This short film describes the family bonds between the humans and animals. The crowd cheered when the short film The Elephant Whispers was announced as the winner, and this was the first Oscar India bagged this year.
Priscilla Gonsalves is the story writer of this short. The short film is already available to stream on Netflix. Apart from The Elephant Whispers, two other movies from India have been nominated for Oscars. RRR’s Naatu Naatu song won the Oscars award for the Best Original Song category. On the otherside, All That Breathes has given a heartbreak as it lost the Best Documentary Feature award to Navalny. The poignant documentary highlighted the burning issue of pollution in New Delhi.
