The  ED has filed several petitions in excise enforcement and prohibition courts in Hyderabad in connection with Tollywood drugs scandal seeking the replica data of the  mobile phones and hard disks of drug peddlers and actors. The ED filed the plea in 12 FIRs in various courts.

In past, ED had filed chargesheets in 12 drug cases. ED had grilled actors  Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja, Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggubati, Charmee Kaur, Navdeep, Mumaith Khan, Tanish, Nandu and Tarun and found no evidence against them. A special investigation team had earlier grilled the celebrities in 2017 and made them witnesses in the case.

The reports are coming that ED – Enforcement Directorate is also seeking the mobile phone of kingpin of Hyderabad drug racket Calvin Mascarenhas and others. ED had verified call records of several people, including  Liger helmer Puri Jagannadh.

Around 12 mobile phones were seized then by excise sleuths and deposited in the court. ED asked for the  detailed explanation and answer as early as possible.

The high court had ordered the excise department to hand over all the case papers, call data records, documents,  statements of accused, witnesses and suspects, digital evidence, including recorded videos, in all the FIRs.
