Generally, November is touted as a slump season for new releases. After Dussehra and Diwali, Tollywood will see slump until Christmas weekend. Generally, occupancy in theaters will be very low when compared to other seasons. That’s why producers don’t want to release their flick in this season. As a result, mostly dubbed movies and low profile movies will release in this season. Producer Suresh Babu who is also a distributor and exhibitor is saying that this is worst ever slumping period for Tollywood as not even 10 percent occupancy is not there. Even they are failing to pay power bills for theaters leave alone print costs.

While this is the situation the lack of good movies is also one of the reasons. This Friday releases, Tenali Rama Krishna BA BL and Vishal’s Action has got a very low response. Both the movies have collected 55 lakhs share and 65 lakhs share respectively. With bad talk of Tenali Rama Krishna, one can expect the film to be a huge flop. While Vishal’s Action has got average ratings and the film is sold to higher prices. So both the films reaching break even is a tough task. On the other hand, Vijay Sethupati’s latest release Sethupati has got delayed-release.

Khaidi has been a profitable venture for all money parties involved. While Vijay’s Whistle managed to break even. Last week’s release Tippara Meesam is a total washout. Both ratings and word of mouth are horrible and audiences can’t bear the film. It is a huge loss for them. So, one thing is clear. We have to wait for a few more weeks for theaters to be filled with the audience. Digital streaming sites Netflix, Amazon Prime is also one of the reasons for the audience not going to theaters. In rural areas, the situation is too worse when compared to urban.
