YSRTP president YS Sharmila was arrested by the police in Hyderabad on Friday after going to besiege the TSPSC office. YSRTP has announced that they will besiege the Telangana Public Service Commission office to protest the TSPSC paper leak.
YS Sharmila came to TSPSC office in Nampally this morning. They tried to besiege the TSPSC office. Police spotted YSRTP President Sharmila and stopped her. Sharmila sat on the road in front of the TSPSC office to protest. Along with Sharmila, YSRTP leaders also sat on the road and protested. Due to this, there was a problem with the traffic. Police arrested YS Sharmila. She was shifted from TSPSC office. YSRTP activists were also arrested and taken to nearby police stations.
While arresting YS Sharmila, the supporters of YSRTP blocked the police. An altercation and scuffle took place between the police and YSRTP supporters. This created tension at the TSPSC office.
YS Sharmila alleged that in TSPSC paper leak case, adults are being spared and minors are being portrayed as guilty. Sharmila said that house arrests were being made and lookout notices were given to her because of agitation. YS Sharmila said that police were heavily deployed around her house.
Sharmila tweeted: We condemn the government’s oppressive actions against OU and KU students who are agitating against TSPSC paper leaks. Lathi charges and arrests are proof of your autocratic rule when the legitimate demands of the students are to be addressed. If you speak up, you are threatening to file cases.
