The ongoing war between Israel and Gaza is intensifying with every passing day. The prospects of a ceasefire are not visible far and wide. In the ongoing conflict between the two countries, common citizens are suffering the most losses. Meanwhile, the heads of all major UN agencies called for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire” in the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. All the heads issued a joint statement expressing displeasure over the death of civilians in Gaza.

“For almost a month, the world has been watching the evolving situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories and is shocked and appalled by the rising toll of loss of life and displacement,” the UN chiefs said. The heads of 18 organizations, including UNICEF, the World Food Program and the World Health Organization, noted the horrific death toll on both sides since Hamas launched an attack on Israel from Gaza on October 7. According to Israeli officials, about 1,400 Israelis, mostly civilians, were killed in the Hamas attack.

Meanwhile, the Hamas Health Ministry in Gaza says that Israel is continuously carrying out air and ground attacks, due to which 9,770 of its people have been killed so far, including most of the civilians. The UN statement said, “Gaza That entire populations in the United States are being surrounded and attacked, denied access to the necessities of life, bombed into their homes, shelters, hospitals and places of worship, is unacceptable. “

United Nations also called on Hamas to release 240 Israeli hostages, appealing to both sides during the war to respect their obligations under international law.
