Today on the occasion of Tamil star Suriya, the makers of his upcoming film Vaadivasal unveiled the first look poster where he is seen as a rural warrior. Vaadivasal marks Suriya’ collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaaran, who is best known for films such as Vada Chennai and Asuran.  The director Vetrimaaran shared the poster on social media, wishing Suriya for his birthday.

The first look poster depicts an angry looking Suriya as a painting, with hieroglyphics in the background showing bulls and the men wielding weapons.

Suriya starrer film Vaadivasal is produced by Kalaipuli Thanu, who had bankrolled Vetrimaaran’ last film Asuran, starring Dhanush and it is based on Jallikattu, a traditional event that takes place in Tamil Nadu as part of Pongal celebrations. It has the music by GV Prakash Kumar and it will be his 75th as a music composer. R Velraj is handling the cinematography.

However, Suriya will only work on Vaadivasal after he completes his immediate next project Aruvaa with Hari. Meanwhile, Suriya is  currently waiting for the release of his Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, which is helmed by Sudha Kongara and is based on the life of Captain GR Gopinath – the founder of the budget airline Air Deccan.
