Mega Prince Varun Tej will be seen playing the role of boxer in his upcoming film which will be helmed by Kiran Korrapati. The actor has already started the preparation for his role. According to the latest update, Varun Tej has left for Mumbai in the wee hours on Sunday to train under Neeraj Goyat, the first Indian boxer to have made it to WBC world rankings.
The sources say that Varun Tej has been prepping up for his role since last year. Valmiki star who has delivered number of hit movies, even went to the US and trained under Olympic boxing gold medallist Tony Jeffries. Now Varun Tej decided to head for another short stint of training in boxing. Finally Varun Tej is getting the training under Neeraj Goyat.
The sources added that in Mumbai, Varun Tej will receive training on various nuances of boxing, apart from a few physical exercises.
Meanwhile the director Kiran Korrapati is giving final touches to the script, and the movie is expected to go on the floor very soon. The makers have also roped Hollywood stuntman, Larnell Stovall, to compose the action sequences for the actioner drama.
Kiran Korrapati, who earlier worked as an assistant director for Srinu Vaitala has prepared a story with a sports backdrop. Allu Venkatesh is bankrolling Varun Tej starrer under along with Sidhu Mudda under the banner Renaissance Pictures and Allu Aravind will be presenting it.
It has also come out that Varun Tej may work with Surender Reddy. The filmmaker had directed Varun Tej’s uncle, megastar Chiranjeevi, in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy was bankrolled by Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja under his home banner Konidela Production Company on a budget of Rs 200 crore. Meanwhile, there are also reports that the director had recently met Mahesh Babu.
