Actress and BJP leader Vijayashanthi reacted strongly to a recently released web series Rana Naidu in which Venkatesh Daggubati and Rana are playing the lead roles. Without mentioning the name of the web series, the actress criticized the Telugu OTT series. It has been suggested that censoring should be made mandatory for films and series aired on OTT platforms.
Vijayashanthi said that censorship is also required for the OTT Web Series and other shows. The actress and politician is strongly against the obscene content shown against women in OTT and urges that sentiments of women should be taken with respect to content creators in the OTT.
Vijayashanthi asked the actors and producers to remove the obscene scenes from the series aired on OTT and ensure that they do not face public opposition. Vijayashanthi took to her social media and shared a post saying that she hopes not to lead to anti-women movements and to protect the audience’s affection. This post is getting good response from the netizens.
The web series Rana Naidu is helmed by Suparn Verma and Karan Anshuman and produced by Sunder Aaron under the banner Locomotive Global Inc. The web series also has Suchitra Pillai, Gaurav Chopra and Surveen Chawla in lead roles
