On Friday, the Supreme Court slammed noted producer Ekta Kapoor, believed to be India’s soap opera queen and the daughter of yesteryear’s hero Jeetendra, for objectionable content in her web series ‘XXX’ and remarked that she was polluting the minds of the younger generation of our Country India. The court made these remarks while hearing her petition challenging the arrest warrant issued Ekta for allegedly insulting soldiers and hurting their families in a web series that aired on her OTT platform ALT Balaji.
Supreme court said that Ekta Kapoor was polluting the minds of the young generation of India. There is an arrest warrant against her issued by a trial court in Bihar’s Begusarai town.The warrant was issued on a complaint filed by Shambhu Kumar, an ex-serviceman. In his complaint, he alleged series ‘XXX’ (Season-2) featured several offensive scenes concerning a soldier’s wife.
He said that Ekta Kapoor was insulting soldiers and hurting the feelings of their families in the web series.
A bench of Justices Ajay Rastogi and C T Ravikumar said, ” You are polluting minds of the young generation of this country India. OTT content is available to all. What kind of choice are you providing to the people? on the contrary you are polluting the minds of youngsters.”
