Bollywood star Salman Khan, who has been sentenced to five-year jail term in Blackbuck poaching case, has been lodged in ward number 2 and given number 106 in Jodhpur Central jail.
Ek Tha Tiger star was made to undergo a medical test recently which revealed that he is not suffering with any kind of health related issues. He will be given jail uniform on Friday.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Kick star was found guilty under Section 9/51 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 for killing two blackbucks, an endangered species. The incident took place in Kankani village near Jodhpur on 1-2nd October, 1998, during the shooting of film Hum Saath Saath Hain, directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya The other four co-accused stars Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu and Neelam were acquitted of all charges.
It is heard that Salman Khan (52) will now have to approach the sessions court for bail. The trial of the blackbuck poaching case was in progress since the last 19 years. The final arguments in the case were completed in a Jodhpur rural court on 28th March. Chief Judicial Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri had reserved the judgment for 5th April thereafter.
