Hollywood’s famous director Christopher Nolan who introduced the world to film marvels like Interstellar, Dunkirk, Inception, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Christopher Nolan, is in India, met the south Indian superstar Kamal Haasan and confessed that he has watched one of Kamal’s Tamil thrilling-drama Paapanaasam. Interestingly, Kamal Haasan apologized to Christopher Nolan for watching the latter’s recent drama-thriller, Dunkirk in a digital format.
Kamal shared a pic on his Twitter and said, “Met Mr Christopher Nolan. Apologized for seeing Dunkirk in the digital format and in return am sending Hey Ram in digital format for him to see. Was surprised to know he had seen Paapanaasam.”
Christopher Nolan arrived in India on Friday for a three-day film event called Reframing the Future of Film and the director began as soon as he came. Nolan is accompanied by his wife, Emma Thomas, and he will be speaking about film restoration, preservation and shooting on film and not digital.
The event is being held at Dr Bhau Daji Lad Museum in Mumbai and there will be a screening of Interstellar and Dunkirk on Monday. Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan is also the part of this event, which is being hosted by Indian filmmaker and archivist Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, who hopes that Nolan’s presence and words will influence people to participate in a culture of film preservation.
