While one can recall what is Akkineni Nagarjuna’s biggest blockbuster in recent times. The answer will undoubtedly be Soggade Chinni Nayana, where he played a dual role as father and son. The film, which is highly entertaining ended up as the highest profitable venture that year in Tollywood. After the super success, director Kalyan Krishna Kurasala and Nagarjuna have announced prequel to the movie titled Bangarraju. This film will deal with the back story of the father’s character and what happened to him and how his lifestyle has been. We have just a glimpse of that in Soggade Chinni Nayana. While the premises look interesting for the project one has expected another entertainer from Nagarjuna.
But years being passed, there is no update about Bangarraju. Everyone now and then for every few months there has been updates that Nagarjuna has okayed the script narrated to him and has given his nod to go for shooting but that never happened. Kalyan Krishna Kurasala even collaborated with senior writer Satyanand for the completion of the script. Though many versions have been prepared by Kalyan Krishna, Nagarjuna hasn’t given his nod to anyone.
Now, the latest rumors in the industry are that Nagarjuna is trying to corner Kalyan Krishna more. He is lining up projects to put more pressure on his blockbuster director. He has even listened to a script from Maharshi writer Solomon who worked with Vamsi Paidipally in the past for Oopiri as well and has given his nod. Social media talk is that Nagarjuna can directly scrap the Bangarraju project instead of wasting Kalyan Krishna’s time but suggesting to him changes every time he comes with better versions. Kalyan Krishna Kurasala also gave a super hit to Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chaitanya in the form of Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam. So this kind of behavior from Nag is not going well with many.
