The astounding picture of the bridge has been shared recently by the Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.
The bridge is in a shape of beautiful arch at skyheights with the clouds moving beneath it. She captioned the image, “The world’s highest #arch #ChenabBridge over the clouds.” The bridge is a steel and concrete arch bridge located in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The bridge will be measured at a height of 359m after completion of its remaining construction.
The bridge connects to the Kashmir valley. Moreover, the bridge is higher than the Eiffel Tower which is situated in Paris. The bridge is expected to open to railway traffic in December this year. The expected budget for it’s construction is about Rs 1,250 crores.
It was halted in 2008 over safety and stability fears, while the construction was aimed to be finished more than a decade ago. The DRDO has assisted design it utilising a special steel, which is a blast proof. However, the bridge will be opened in this year as early as possible.
