Yatra is an upcoming prestigious biopic on former Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy. According to the latest update the makers are going to release the theatrical trailer tomorrow on 7th January 2019 at 5 pm. The production house 70mm Entertainment has confirmed the same news by sharing the poster and wrote, “Join the remarkable #Yatra of our beloved leader Dr. YSR. #YatraTrailer will be out on 7th Jan at 5 pm. @mammukka @MahiVRaghav @VijayChilla @devireddyshashi #ShivaMeka @K_RiverRecords @70mmentertains @MangoMusicLabel #YatraOnFeb8th.”
Mollywood stalwart Mammootty is reprising the role of YSR in Yatra, which is being helmed by Mahi V Raghav and is jointly bankrolled by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy under the banner of 70mm Entertainments banner.
Unlike other biopics, Yatra does not chronicle the entire life of Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Instead, the story is just about the historic padayatra of YSR that changed the course of Andhra Pradesh’s politics.
In 2003, Pradesh YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) took a long walk across the state and covered about 1,475 km on foot. This assured the victory of his party in 2004 election and he then did the same thing in 2009. The upcoming biopic will document this remarkable event from the state’s history. Apart from Mammootty, Yatra has other stars like Jagapathi Babu, Sudheer Babu, Suhasini Maniratnam and Rao Ramesh in supporting role. Yatra is scheduled to hit the theaters on 8th February 2019.
