Titled ‘1770-Ek Sangram,’ author-turned-filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee and former head of Zee Studio Sujoyy Kuttyiy announced the project in the month of April. Writer K V Vijayendra Prasad, the father of SS Rajamouli, who is best known for his script for blockbuster movies such as Baahubali, Manikarnika, RRR, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, is set to write a film based on celebrated Bengali novelist Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s famous novel “Anandmath”. The sources say that Vijayendra Prasad is penning the script for 1770- Ek Sangram, an official adaptation of Anandmath- the story of Sanyasis who fought against the British Raj and sowed the seed of Independence.

1770- Ek Sangram is a Pan India film which will be helmed by a super talented young Telugu director. A big Star is likely to play the lead role and the official announcement regarding this project will be made on Independence day.

This feature film 1770- Ek Sangram will be produced by Shhailendra Kkumar from SS1 Entertainment and Suraj Sharma from PK Entertainments. The major part of the movie will be shot in Hyderabad, West Bengal, and in London, England.

 Recently during an interview, KV Vijayendra Prasad, fresh of the success of  RRR, helmed by SS Rajamouli, stated, “When Sujoyy approached me for Anandamath, I was a bit taken aback. After a couple of sessions, now I am excited to work. It will be a huge challenge for me, to recreate the magic of Anandamath.”
