NTR Kathanayakudu is directed by Krish and is jointly produced by Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati Ranganatha, Vishnu Induri under NBK Films, Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, Vibri Media banners. MM Keeravani has composed the music. Balakrishna played the role of his father and legendary actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao whereas Vidya Balan made her screen presence in Basavatarakam’s role.
