Vijay Deverakonda starrer Geetha Govindam, which has hit the theaters yesterday, is running successfully at the box office. Baahubali film maker SS Rajamouli, Megastar Chiranjeevi and others have praised the performance of Vijay Deverakonda and congratulated the entire team of Geetha Govindam. It is surprising to know that as many as 25 heroines who are all star and middle ranged heroines have rejected Geetha Govindam. Top actress Samantha Akkinnei has already worked with Vijay Deverakonda in Nag Ashwin’s Mahanati, the biopic of Savitri, where both played the role of journalist. The sources say that Lavanya Tripathi was the first choice to play the female lead in Geetha Govindam but as she has delivered number of flop movies in her short time span, the makers dropped the idea and approached Raashi Khanna. Though Raashi Khanna, who was very impressed with the story-line and her character, said yes immediately, but she demanded Rs 1 Cr to romance with Vijay Deverakonda on the screen.
It is heard that the makers of Geetha Govindam tried to convince Raashi Khanna but she was not ready to compromise with remuneration. Later the makers brought Kannada beauty Rashmika Mandanna on the board to play the female lead in Vijay Deverakonda starrer Geetha Govindam. This was her second Telugu movie. Rashmika Mandanna made her Telugu debut with Chalo in which she shared the screen space with Naga Shaurya.
It is known news that Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have again teamed up for an upcoming movie Dear Comrade. On the otherside, Raashi Khanna was seen in recently released family entertainer Srinivas Kalyanam, the production venture of Dil Raju, in which she shared the screen space with Nithiin. The movie is turning out commercially flop at the box office.
Currently Raashi Khanna has multiple projects in her kitty- Shaitan Ka Bachcha, Imaikkaa Nodigal, Ayokya and a movie with Kranthi Madhav.
