After delivering successful movie Arjun Reddy, Vijay Deverakonda became overnight star in Telugu Film Industry. Now his romantic and comedy entertainer Geetha Govindam, directed by Parasuram and produced by Bunny Vas, has hit the theaters today. Rashmika Mandanna is playing the female lead role. Let’s see the storyline of Geetha Govindam.
Story: Vijay Govind (Vijay Deverakonda), who works as a lecturer, falls in love with Geetha (Rashmika Mandanna), a manager at TCS. He tries to impress her but becomes fail and makes a very wrong impression on Geetha. She thinks Govind is a womanizer. One day both met at a bus and came to know that they are relatives. Govind’s sister is going to get married to Geetha’s brother (Subbaraju). Govind bears all the misunderstanding and torture of Geetha. On the otherside, Geetha’s brother is in the hunt of a guy who misbehaved with his sister in the Bus.The rest of the story is all about how things move forward between both the families of Geetha and Govind.

Performance: The Casting of Geetha Govindam is an asset and all the actors are properly cast. Undoubtedly, the heart and soul of the film is Vijay Deverakonda. Right from the first frame to the last, Vijay Devreakonda impresses the audiences with his performance, amazing screen presence and comedy. Parasuram has sculpted his character with so much care. Story wise, he has not attempted anything but told the familiar story beautifully. Rashmika Mandanna looks cute in her role. She is quite natural in her expressions. Naga Babu as Govind father is good but he got limited screen space but Subbaraju as Geetha’s brother plays a lengthy role. Comedian Rahul Ramakrishna , Vennela Kishore and others performed accordingly.
Technical: The storyline of Geetha Govindam is simple and predictable. The audio album of Geetha Govindam is a huge hit among the music lovers but the songs could have been shot in lavish and romantic manner. Naga Babu and his dubbing is horrible. Editing by Martand K Venkatesh is crisp although the second half needs a bit of trimming. Production values by Geetha Arts are top notch. The cinematography by Manikandan is very good. Every frame in the movie looks very grand. Music by Gopi Sundar is top notch.
Analysis: Overall Geetha Govindam is good romantic comedy entertainer. The first half of the film is entertaining but the second half has dull moments. The plot of Geetha Govindam is interesting and it could be executed in more exciting manner with little more effort.
