As part of India’s 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the tricolor flag at the famous Red Fort in Delhi on 15th August. Around 1800 people from various professions and their spouses have been invited as special guests by the Central Government for these celebrations. 400 sarpanches from 660 villages were on the list of special guests. 250 of those who are part of Farmer Producer Organizations Scheme, 50 under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme and another 50 under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana have been invited.
50 construction workers, khadi workers, construction of border roads, Amrit Sarovar, Har Ghar Jal Yojana, who are part of the construction of the Central Vista project, including the new Parliament building, will attend the Choppuna ceremony. Also, 50 primary school teachers, nurses and fishermen each got an opportunity to participate in the Independence Day at Red Fort. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense has issued a statement saying that such common people have been invited to the Independence Day celebrations in accordance with the Jan Bhagidari vision of the government. 75 couples from each state and union territory were invited to witness the ceremony at the Red Fort in their traditional attire.
