Congress leader Feroz Khan alleged that there are 6.72 lakh bogus voters out of more than 22 lakh voters in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency. He demanded that the Election Commission of India (ECI) purge the electoral roll and initiate action against the guilty officials. He submitted a report of irregularities identified with alleged evidence to the ECI.
Speaking to the media, Feroz Khan said that about 660 voters were registered in a house built in 200 square yards in Yakutpura. He said that in another case, 360 voters were registered in a house built in 100 square yards. He also said that names of deceased persons were also in the voter list.
Feroz Khan listed 6 categories of irregularities in electors list which he has taken up with the EC.
Feroz Khan, who contested from Nampally constituency in the recent Assembly polls but narrowly lost to AIMIM by 2,037 votes, emphasised the need for the electoral roll cleanup to ensure fair elections.
Feroz Khan expressed confidence that electoral rolls would be purified in Congress regime under the leadership of CM A Revanth Reddy.
