Amaravathi Landless agri workers get enhanced pension


Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’ led govt has announced good news for the landless poor in the capital city of Amaravati. The government has increased monthly pension from Rs 2,500 to Rs. 5,000. Along with the pension increase, the govt has also released Rs 21.98 cr for the provision of free education and healthcare services. 

This announcement was made through a Government Order issued on Friday. The release of funds was confirmed by the Special Chief Secretary of the Municipal Administration Department, YSrilakshmi, through issued orders.

Special Chief Secretary (MAUD) Y Srilakshmi, in G O Ms No 33 released on February 28 (Wednesday), said that based on the recommendations made by the CRDA Commissioner, AP government has increased the pension amount. Y Srilakshmi instructed the CRDA Commissioner to take the necessary steps to implement this pension order. 

The decision to increase pension amount was made after Prathipadu MLA M Sucharitha recently met CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, appealing to him to enhance pension amount to landless farmers.
