Prime Minister Modi’s determination to make 3 crore women millionaires in the country in three years, one crore people became Lakhpatis in a year.
The number of women millionaires has increased significantly due to the self-reliance of self-help groups across the country. The number of women earning more than one lakh rupees per annum in Self Help Groups has crossed one crore.
Women from Andhra Pradesh are at the top among those who earn at least one lakh rupees annually. 13.65 lakh women in AP are able to earn an income of more than one lakh annually as part of the Lakhpati Didi scheme. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Rural Development, AP is at the top, followed by Bihar at the second position and West Bengal at the third position.
Lakshadweep stands at the last place in the implementation of Lakhpati Didi scheme among states and Union Territories. There is not a single Lakhpati Didi. Andaman and Nicobar are at the last position with 242 and Goa with 206.
Prime Minister Modi announced this scheme on August 15 last year. It has been announced that 2 crore rural women will be made millionaires in the country. The budget aims to make three crore millionaires. It is stated that crores of women are getting income of one lakh rupees as part of this scheme within a year.
As part of empowering women, ten crore women have been included as members of Self Help Groups. Through these significant results were achieved.
