Another case of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Telugu Desam Party leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu has come to the fore. It is known that Chandrababu, who was arrested in the skill development case, is currently in Rajahmundry jail on judicial remand. It is known that the CID officials have already filed a Prisoner Transit Warrant (PT Warrant) against Chandrababu Naidu in the case related to the capital Amaravati Inner Ring Road irregularities. Recently, the CID officials filed a PT warrant in the Vijayawada ACB court in the AP Fibernet case.
There are allegations that this scam took place during Chandrababu’s tenure when he also held the energy, infrastructure and investment departments. The main allegation is that there were irregularities in the tenders for the first phase of the AP Fibernet project. The government alleges that the tender process was rigged to award the Rs 330 crore work order to a favored company.
The tender was allegedly awarded to TeraSoftware by silencing protests from other bidders such as Pace Power. The CID alleged that there were many irregularities from the awarding of tenders to the completion of the entire project, resulting in huge losses to the government exchequer.
It said that around 80 percent of the optic fiber cable capacity has become unusable due to use of substandard material, violation of conditions and non-adherence to the specifications mentioned in the RFP while executing the project.
