Varapula Raja, the TDP leader of Prattipadu constituency of Kakinada district, died of a heart attack last night. He is 47 years old. He suffered a heart attack at 9 last night and was immediately rushed to Surya Global Hospital in Kakinada. As the condition worsened, he was shifted to the local Apollo Hospital from there. He breathed his last at 11 pm while undergoing treatment there.
Varapula Raja suffered a heart attack five years ago. At that time the doctors performed a stunt. He was undergoing regular medical tests and was currently campaigning for the MLC elections. He was acting as party in-charge of Bobbili and Saluru constituencies in the Uttarandhra MLC elections and had been busy campaigning for a few days. He reached his hometown Prattipad yesterday evening and talked to party leaders and family members till 8.30 pm. After that he suddenly collapsed due to a heart attack.
Varapula Raja started his political career as the President of Prathipadu Mandal, and worked as the Chairman of DCCB and Vice Chairman of APCAB. In the 2019 elections, he contested as a TDP candidate from Prathipadu constituency and was defeated by a narrow margin of votes. TDP is deeply saddened by the death of Varupula Raja. Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep shock after coming to know about Varupula Raja death.
