Telugu Desam Party called a state bandh on Monday to protest the arrest of TDP President Chandrababu Naidu. Party President Achchannaidu has called for protest programs to be carried out in district centers as well as across the state.  BJP also supported the bandh given by Telugu Desam Party and a letter was released in the name of party state president Purandeshwari on BJP letterhead. In it, it was mentioned that BJP ranks should also participate in dharnas and show solidarity with Chandrababu.

At first everyone thought that BJP’s announcement of support for TDP bandh was true. Later a fake letter was found being circulated in WhatsApp groups claiming to support the bandh.

Daggubati Purandheswari announced that she will file a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police to take action against those responsible for circulating the fake letter. Purandeshwari condemned the arrest of TDP president Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday morning. Along with Purandeshwari, BJP General Secretary Sathya Kumar also declared his support for Chandrababu. In this background, everyone thought that BJP’s support for TDP bandh was real. There is a discussion about what happened when the president of the BJP announced that they had nothing to do with the TDP bandh. TDP has been trying for an electoral alliance with BJP for some time in AP.
