AP’ First Floating bridge inaugurated in Vizag

Floating Sea Bridge (FSB), the State’s first tourism project of this kind was inaugurated today. Modelled after FSB at Chavakkad Beach in Thrissur, Kerala, the tourism spot has been opened to the public.

The floating bridge has been made available to tourists at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam. The bridge, constructed with an investment of Rs 1.6 cr by Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government, was inaugurated on Sunday by Rajya Sabha member YV Subba Reddy and Minister Gudivada Amarnath.

The Floating Sea Bridge is located near the Kursura submarine museum at RK Beach. VMRDA officials said:  It is modelled after a bridge at Chavakkad beach in Thrissur of Kerala and visitors can walk 100 metres into the sea on it. Mumbai-based technicians installed the project.

 On the occasion of the inauguration, MP YV Subba Reddy said, “Visakhapatnam is a very peaceful city and predicted that the floating bridge would increase the number of tourists visiting the beach.” He mentioned that CM Jagan Reddy is making efforts to develop various beaches across the state.
