AP Government Teachers again raised protests over PRC

Denying the deal between the state government and PRC Sadhana samithi, government teachers in Andhra pradesh progressed their protest over pay revision and other demands. Today, various teachers’ unions quite the steering committee of PRC Sadhana samithi as a mark of protest over the deal reached on saturday.

As the main demand for Pay revision was not addressed, leaders of the teachers’ unions made it clear that they will not agree the sops offered by the government. Joseph Sudheer Babu, The union president of state teachers, K.S.S. Prasad, The general secretary of united teachers federation (U T F)  and  Hrudaya Raju, The president of A.P teachers federation have been announce their denunciation from the steering committee and said that it acted unilaterally during the communication with the directorate.

The reason behind their announcement determines that the government hasn’t considered their demands. The unions said, teachers will take part in the progressive protest which will be lasted for five days. The teachers claimed that a round table meeting will be arranged soon to discuss about their future plan of actions. Employees had  dropped their plans to go on strike from Feb 7 by following an agreement with the government.

Teachers’ unions opposed the agreement, saying, PRC Sadhana samithi failed to achieve their main demand of 27% pay revision. The UTF leader said that the discussions between teachers and the government have also failed. In fact, he also demanded 27% pay revision. He conveyed that the government was ready to provide only 10% HRA to teachers. He further demanded that the government should pay minimum 12% HRA according to its old system.
