AP High Court permitted Rajadhani Files to have its screenings

This morning, we informed you that a politically inclined movie, titled Rajadhani Files was halted from its screenings in theatres by the Andhra Pradesh High Court yesterday. This was because the judge ordered an examination of whether the film’s release certificate was issued by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) as per the rules under the Cinematograph Act of 1952, according to reports from the Censor Board’s examining and revising committees.

As the film was developed with some defaming scenes that postulate the lives of politicians, the CBFC examination committee asked the filmmakers to delete such sequences in the film and they sought an appeal before the revision committee, which upheld the commitment of the examination committee and those parts were deleted.

The film stars Pushparaj Akhilan and Veena Panchaparvala in the lead roles. The other cast includes Vani Viswanath, Vinod Kumar, Shanmukh, Vishal Patni and Amrutha Chowdary in prominent roles.
