The counting of votes in Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh is underway. While Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana voted in a single phase, the elections in Chhattisgarh were held in 2 phases. As of now, the BJP- Bharatiya Janata Party is ahead in all three states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. While the saffron party was expected to do better in Rajasthan where no party has repeated the government, it was thought to be in a difficult spot in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
BJP has managed to beat the fatigue factor in MP and has the lead in Rajasthan. Telangana is the only state in Congress kitty as of now , according to trends on ECI website.
MP- Madhya Pradesh results will hugely disappoint Congress, which had thrown its weight behind former Chief Minister Kamal Nath.
With BJP- Bharatiya Janata Party win almost sealed in Rajasthan, now the supporters are rooting for Vasundhara Raje to be the next chief minister.
Rahul Gandhi had picked Kamal Nath in Madhya Pradesh and Bhupesh Baghel in Chhattisgarh. Rajasthan, was a headache for top Congress leadership, where Ashok Gehlot was in constant fight with Sachin Pilot.
