KR Sachidandan aka Sachy who is popular for his directorial venture Ayyappanum Koshiyum passed away at Thrissur Jubilee Mission hospital on Thursday. Sachy was 48.  The Malayalam director was on ventilator support after he suffered a cardiac arrest while undergoing a hip replacement surgery at the private hospital. He was rushed to Jubilee Mission hospital on 16th June after he suffered a cardiac attack after being given anesthesia ahead of a second surgery. It was also heard that Sachy suffered hypoxic brain damage.

Sachidandan aka Sachy  entered the film industry as a screenwriter in collaboration with writer Sethu and later he made his debut as a screenwriter with Chocolate, which he co-wrote with Sethu, and the movie was released in 2007. The writer duo also penned few movies like Robin Hood, Makeup Man, Seniors and Doubles. In  2010s, the writer duo parted their ways, and Sachy started writing the movies independently. He wrote films like Chettayees, Sherlock Toms, Ramaleela,  and Driving Licence.

Sachy made his debut as a director with the movie Anarkali, which was released in 2015. However, his last film Ayyappanum Koshiyum gave Sachy his first major break as a director, which was a blockbuster at the box office.
