National General Secretary of the party, MP Bandi Sanjay said that he is happy to introduce the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Parliament and it is a proof of the sincerity of the BJP to introduce the Bill. Special thanks to Prime Minister Modi on this occasion.

He reminded that the idea of providing reservation for women is almost 5 decades old and the discussion on providing reservation for women was held in the Lok Sabha in 1975. However, due to the double stance of the Congress party in that regard, the Women’s Reservation Bill has not been approved for the past three decades.

He said that although the NDA government under the leadership of former Prime Minister Vajpayee introduced the Women’s Bill for the first time in July 1998, at that time many opposition parties, including the Congress and RJD, opposed the Bill but it was not approved. Even after that, the former Prime Minister Vajpayee did not let go of his grip. Although the Women’s Bill was introduced three more times, he expressed anger that the Women’s Bill was not approved due to the conspiracies of the Congress and its allies.

At the same time, Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi was also under fire. He expressed his displeasure at the attitude of Congress and Sonia Gandhi regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill. Congress party was criticized as anti-women. Sonia Gandhi, who has been in office for ten years as the chairperson of the UPA, has not even thought about this bill for a single day and expressed anger that the UPA alliance could not pass the women’s bill even though it had a complete majority.

In this regard, he said, what more proof is needed that the Congress party is anti-women. He said that the approval of the Women’s Bill is certain as the NDA alliance under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi has a complete majority in the Parliament. He said that it is not possible to stop the bill even if all the opposition including the Congress oppose it.
