Arundhati and Rudhramdevi fame  Anushka Shetty’s starrer woman centric movie ‘Bhaagamathie’ has finally hit the theaters today on 26th January 2018.  Anushka is popular for performance oriented roles. Be it  Devasena of ‘Baahubali 2’ or Sweet in ‘Size Zero’, the characters she picks are always loved by many.  The script of ‘Bhaagamathie’ was penned by G Ashok in 2012, specifically keeping Anushka Shetty in mind, he waited four long years for her to give him the dates. Let’s see the storyline.

 

Story: The ruling party frames a theft conspiracy on Central Minister Eswar Prasad (Jayaram) who is going against his own party. Chanchala (Anushka) who is in Jail, is being interrogated by CBI to frame honest Minister Eswar Prasad in a Temple antiques theft case. IAS Officer Chanchala worked as a secretary to the minister in the past. CBI wants to, convince her to lie against Mr.Prasad , so that they can proceed with filing cases against him. In this process, CBI shifts Chanchala secretly to Bhaagamathie bungalow in  a forest, which has the history of horror and killings. Inside the bungalow chanchala starts experience horror with the ghost (Bhaagamathie)  to whom the bungalow belongs. Who is Bhaagamathie? What is the twist behind the whole political set up? To know the answers, one should watch the movie on silver screen.

Performances: This is totally Anushka Shetty’s film. She is ideally suited for the role. She is brilliant and breathtaking in parts. This will also count as one of Anushka’s best films in her filmography.  Her emotions, expressions and the total contrast of the two roles have been depicted very well. She is at her best with great performance. Jayaram delivers his best  as Mr. Eeswara Prasad, Murali Sharma as ACP justifies with his role. Prabhas Seenu, Dhanraj and Vidyullata Raman and others performed accordingly.

 

Technical: The Storyline of the film is very interesting.  It is told by a storyteller with a perfect understanding of the talent and technology. Screenplay is very good. The beauty of this screenplay is about revealing the story. Background music by SS Thaman is brilliant. Art direction is first-rate.  Editing is smooth. Production values of this film are extravagant. R Madhi’s cinematography  is noteworthy. The director G. Ashok has done a good job.

 

Analysis: The main plus points of the film are screenplay, art direction, cinematography, editing, BGM, Sound design and  the performances of Anushka Shetty. She  steals the show. There are enough chilling moments to shake the audience off their chair. It has engaging twists at regular intervals. The film is one of the best made ever in the history of Telugu cinema in terms of technical values so it deserves to be a good hit. Bhaagamathie- A visual treat for fans of Anushka.
