Police arrested TDP leader and former minister Bhuma Akhila Priya in Allagadda and shifted her to Nandyal. With Akhilapriya’s arrest, the situation suddenly became tense. What has happened so far is that TDP youth leader Nara Lokesh’s Yuvagalam padayatra entered Nandyal constituency yesterday. To welcome Lokesh, Akhila Priya and AV Subbareddy’s relatives have made large-scale arrangements in Kothapalli village.
There has been a sectarian war between the Akhila Priya and Subbareddy communities for some time now. In this background, a clash started between the two communities at Kothapally. A supporter of Akhila Priya assaulted Subbareddy of the same party and seriously injured him. His nose bled. This caused tension. The police responded immediately and dispersed both the groups and brought the situation under control. Akhila Priya was recently arrested by the police in this case at her residence in Allagadda and she was taken to the panyam Police Station. A case has been registered against her under the section 307. Earlier she was detained by the police. A large number of police under the command of Nandyala DSP Maheshwar Reddy reached Akhilpriya’ residence in Allagadda.
Subbareddy was injured in the incident that took place in Kothapalle village of Nandyal mandal during Telugu Desam Party leader Nara Lokesh’s padayatra on Tuesday. Subbareddy is currently undergoing treatment at Nandyal Government Hospital.
