New strategies are being drafted to bring new enthusiasm in the Congress party in Nalgonda district. Arrangements are being made to induct key leaders into the party at the same time during the CWC meetings of the Congress party.

The opposition Congress is planning to regain its former glory in the united Nalgonda district. Till the emergence of TDP, the situation in the district was either Congress or Communists. After that, Congress and TDP were tied. Even after the formation of Telangana in 2014, the Congress was able to limit BRS to just five seats in the district.

During the 2018 elections, however, it lost influence and won only three seats. In the Lok Sabha elections held the following year, it proved its strength by winning two MPs in Nalgonda and Bhuvanagiri parliamentary seats within the district. Now they are getting ready to show their strength in the 2023 assembly elections. The leadership of the party is expecting that the Congress will get a good grip in the combined districts of Nalgonda, Khammam and Mahbubnagar in South Telangana.

Jitta Balakrishna Reddy, who has already contested three times as an independent from Bhuvanagiri constituency and stood second, will be brought into the Congress. Motkupalli, who has a long political career as a five-time MLA and minister, is planning to bring Narsimhulu from BRS to Congress and contest from Tungaturthi. There is a history that he has already won as TDP MLA from Tungaturthi once. Former MLA Vemula Veeresham, who won as BRS MLA in 2014 in Nakirekal constituency and lost by a narrow margin in 2018, has been cleared to join the Congress.
