With the arrest of Magunta Raghu, there is a buzz in both YSRCP and BRS that ED is likely to issue notices to MLC K Kavitha, the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister KCR, as her name has been mentioned in the remand diaries and the statements of some of the accused several times.
There is speculation that ED or CBI may summon CM’ daughter to Delhi for the questioning, and this is causing concern among BRS political leaders. On the otherside, K Kavitha has made it clear that she has no role in this Delhi liquor scam and that she is willing to face any questions from ED or CBI.
Few days ago, ED arrested Magunta Raghava Reddy, son of YSRCP MP, for allegedly being part of a ‘South Group’ that paid a Rs 100 Cr bribe to AAP leaders in the Delhi liquorgate case. ED is closely scrutinising the role of state MLC K Kavitha. Her name, too, figures in the South Group that is alleged to have paid a bribe for a share in Delhi liquor scam.
CBI has also arrested Hyderabad based chartered accountant (CA), Butchibabu Gorantla, after scrutiny of his WhatsApp chats revealed that he was in close contact with other accused in the case- Delhi liquor business. The agency disclosed that Butchibabu Gorantla was auditor of MLC K Kavitha.
