BRS dropped its Alampur candidate, legislator VM Abraham, and replaced him with Vijayudu, even as it picked Nand Kishore Vyas for Goshamahal and Ch Anand Kumar Goud for Nampally.
BRS high command shocked the sitting MLAs. Although the name of Abraham was announced as the candidate of Alampur, the local leader gave a nod at the last minute. With this the politics of Alampur became interesting.
Alampur is an assembly constituency in the combined Mahbubnagar district. Abraham won on behalf of BRS in the last election from here which is SC reserved seat. In this election also, KCR has given opportunity to sitting MLAs for all the 14 assembly seats in the joint district. A corresponding list has also been announced. The list announced by BRS has the name of sitting MLA Abraham as candidate from Alampur.
If Abraham is finalized as a candidate, Challa faction has concluded that there is no point in supporting him.
In Nampally, Ch Anand Kumar Goud will face off with Md Feroz Khan of the Congress and Md Majid Hussain from the AIMIM, while in Goshamahal, it will square off with T.Raja Singh of BJP and Mogili Sunitha of the Congress.
