The Calcutta High Court commented that adolescent girls should control their s…ual desires. At the same time, adolescent boys and girls should be respected. The court made these comments as part of the investigation of a r…pe case related to a minor girl. The accused, who was in a romantic relationship with the concerned girl, was acquitted.
A bench comprising Justice Chitta Ranjan Dash and Justice Partha Sarathi Sen said, “Instead of running for 2 minutes of happiness, girls should control their s…ual desires. Respect should be given to adolescent boys, girls and women.”
“Testosterone in man is the root cause of s…x desire. This testosterone is controlled by the hypothalamus and pituitary glands. This is the reason for s…x desire. It is present in all bodies. These glands are active. “However, Desires arise. But these do not happen automatically. This should be recognized by all,” the bench observed.
In this context, the Kolkata High Court opined that girls should control their s…ual desires and protect their integrity, dignity and values. It suggested that privacy should be emphasized.
“As for boys, it is their responsibility to respect women and girls. Boys should train their brains to value women. Girls’ privacy should be valued,” the High Court said.
