The Chief Officer of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Rajeev Kumar has made sensational comments on the free promises made by political parties as the elections are approaching. He criticized that right before the elections, the political parties would announce their promises and after winning, they would not be able to implement them. He said that free promises are like a touch of public attraction. He said that political parties cannot refrain from announcing promises even though they know that they cannot be implemented after winning. It is alleged that one guarantee is given in one state and another guarantee in another state.
It is said that they will shower boons of unenforceable promises to come to power. The CEC clarified that the responsibility of regulating such guarantees lies with the respective state governments.
However, he explained that a set model has recently been made available to explain to the public how the promises made during the elections will be implemented after coming to power. Rajeev Kumar said that the parties have the freedom to say what they will do after winning the elections, similarly the voters have the right to know how the election promises will be implemented.
